I have to finish the Jane Eyre theme with Jasper Fforde’s The Eyre Affair. While I didn’t enjoy the whole series (I gave up halfway through the 2nd book) I did like the first one. The world setting is fun and I liked Thursday quite a bit.
A favourite (yes, I’m a non-american) adaptation of mine is Jenna Starborn. It’s a reinterpretation of Jane Eyre, set in space. I’ve enjoyed most of Sharon Shinn’s books, so I set aside my trepidation – I’ve always found Jane Eyre disappointing – and read this version.
I was thrilled! For the first time I could understand why someone could like Rochester (or a character in the space that was originally filled by Rochester).
and this is why I love tumblr.
My tagline is taken from Something Wicked This Way Comes. Book by Ray Bradbury, movie by Walt Disney Pictures, screenplay by Ray Bradbury.
just wasting time at lunch setting up a blog so I can comment more easily on blogs, yet look super cool (or well, not) while doing it.
