A favourite (yes, I’m a non-american) adaptation of mine is Jenna Starborn. It’s a reinterpretation of Jane Eyre, set in space. I’ve enjoyed most of Sharon Shinn’s books, so I set aside my trepidation – I’ve always found Jane Eyre disappointing – and read this version.
I was thrilled! For the first time I could understand why someone could like Rochester (or a character in the space that was originally filled by Rochester).
